Mishti/Michelle Olivier is a Manchester based, UK born artist whose family emigrated from India in the 1950s. She completed the MA course in Contemporary Fine Art at The University of Salford in 2018.

 

She has been part of the collective which curated the £15m award winning South Asia Gallery at Manchester Museum, which opened in 2023. She has developed a body of work, MiscegeNation, which explores how mixed-race people and relationships are represented, some of which is on display in the South Asia Gallery.

 

Other themes she is currently exploring in her work are inspired by the natural world and themes of stories, dreams, memory, and loss.
